In November 2008, I traveled to South Korea to meet up with some of the most amazing talent in South Korea.   The story of "Body and Seoul" is about an American record producer who must flee Los Angeles due to an incident.  He does so to meet up with his company's rep in Asia.    Anyway, I was very skeptical about the quality of the talent but got there.  And I was amazed.

On arrival at Seoul International Airport, I went directly to the concert of Kang San Ae who is a kind of Eric Clapton or Neil Young voice.   The venue was maybe 200-300 people - an intimate setting - and everybody was into the show.  It was all in Korean so I couldn't understand a word.   But I got the vibe.

Kang San Ae has a very powerful voice, deep and resonant.  His drummer has a Mohawk and plays the drums and percussion with a bobbing head.  He loves to give crap to the keyboardist who looks very, very young.  I mean this guy looks twelve but is a really good keyboard player.

Body & Seoul is a delightful romantic comedy about a music producer, DANTE CRUISE, who becomes a “fish out of water” when he is exiled to Korea to redeem himself and his career.

Dante causes a ruckus in Hollywood when he throws a TV set out of the Ace Records building and smashes a police car.   He must cool his heels out of town – way out of town – so his bosses send him to a far distant land to cultivate new talent – Korea.  Dante’s reaction: “Is that a country?”
